I have been like many other Schleich collectors that there seem to be Schleich found everywhere but are they really Schleich. I recently went to a local store that has never sold Schleich and still does not sell Schleich. They have always sold the Mojo, Safari, or Papo brands. I always go and look at these models anyway. I picked up a gorgeous white rearing stallion in the Mojo brand and to my surprise, it was the same model as the 1996 Schleich Morgan stallion 13235. I wanted to let people know how to tell if they found a real Schleich or a ... SCHLEICH ALIKE!
Here are things to look for:
Schleich will always have a stamp on their bellies labeled Schleich. If not, run.
If they have a tag, it will always have the Schleich brand
Harder now. Schleich will never have production marks. The little lines that go across the neck and back. Schleich's surfaces will look smooth or hair like.
Schleich will never be hollow
These are a few things that I look for in buying Schleich. Hope they keep you from being tricked by the SCHLEICH ALIKES!
