History of Schleich
In 1935 Friedrich Schleich invented Schleich toys. The first toys he produced were Snoopy, Smurfs and other comic characters. These were released in the 1950's. In the 1980's, Schleich started making animal figures.
Schleich was a family business until 2006 when they sold 80% of their stocks to a British company. At this time, they started moving their production to china.Â
The Schleich headquarters are located in Germany. All of their figures are hand painted and hand modeled.
Around 2016, Schleich started spreading their production from China back into Germany and into Tunisia.
Schleich is well known and sold in many toys stores, general stores, and farm stores. They have a wide varity of animals, comic figures, and action figures.
Schleich horses are a favorite for beginning painters because they are pretty easy to find in thrift stores, garage sales, and flea markets.
